A community-created color library

Every Color Deserves a Name™

Color Naming Club

Hosted by Art & Song Ecards

Some colors have famous names. Others are known only by a string of numbers and letters. We think that's a shame.

Together we rescue anonymous colors from numerical obscurity. Every color we name becomes part of a growing community-created library, carrying the stories of the people who named it.

Artists, designers, gardeners, decorators, dreamers, and everyday color lovers are all welcome.

Why name colors?

A name transforms a color from a code into a story.

Color helps us remember. Think about Lavender, Coral, Sage, Indigo, or Burgundy. Without their names, they would simply be colors.

With their names, they become memories, places, feelings, and ideas. The Color Naming Club exists to continue that tradition.
